
The student representative to the º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Board of Governors represents the student body as a member of the University’s Board of Governors. The student governor is entrusted with a great duty in representing the public interest through a student perspective. It is also a great opportunity to combine your life experiences, community background, and social action into effective educational leadership.Â
Communication skills are vital. The student representative is expected to actively participate in meetings of the Board of Governors as well as other campus meetings, programs and events, and discuss issues with student groups. He or she must be well informed and have a clear understanding of º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø, including its mission, structure and programs.Â
As defined in , the student representative to the Board of Governors is an independent appointee of the Governor of the State of Missouri subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.Â
Requirements:
The student representative must be:
- a full-time student at º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø (12 hours per semester for undergraduate students, 8 hours per semester for graduate students)
- enrolled as a full-time student throughout appointmentÂ
- a citizen of the United States and a resident of the state of Missouri
- have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5
- an active member of at least one student organizationÂ
