Program Overview
The Spanish for the Professional Certificate is a focused, skill-based program designed to develop proficiency and competency in reading, writing, listening to, and speaking Spanish. Available for both degree and non-degree seeking students, the Spanish for the Professional Certificate provides valuable skills and a competitive edge in a variety of occupations, preparation for international opportunities, personal enrichment, and more.
Program Requirements
Students whoÌýchoose this certificate program will have no more than 3 years from admission or subsequent declaration to meet the requirements listed below. If certification, accreditation or statutory requirements change and additional requirements become effective during this time, the new requirements take precedence.Ìý
Required Coursework

â—‹ Elementary Spanish II 3
â—‹ Intermediate Spanish I 3
â—‹ Intermediate Spanish II 3
Total Credit Hours – 12
Program Graduation Requirements
â—‹Ìý Students must successfully complete an exit exam after completing the required coursework.
â—‹Ìý Earn an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a major GPA of at least 2.0
University Graduation Requirements
â—‹ÌýÌýEarn a minimum of 12 credit hours (100 level and higher, maximum of 6 CED credit hours available).
â—‹Ìý Earn half of the requirements at º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø.
â—‹Ìý Earn 9 of the last 12 credit hours at º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø in institutional coursework (exclusive of credit by examination).
â—‹Ìý Participate in required departmental and campus wide assessments.
