The public is invited to an open dress rehearsal for the opera production, \u201cLa Trag\u00e9die de Carmen\u201d at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in the Kemper Recital Hall, inside Spratt Hall on the 含羞草社区 campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cLa Trag\u00e9die de Carmen\u201d is a 90-minute version of Bizet\u2019s \u201cCarmen\u201d created by the stage director Peter Brook. It will be presented completely in French. The rehearsal is for members of the Alliance Fran\u00e7ais de Saint Joseph, but is open to the public. Admission is free, but donations to support Missouri Western opera vocal student scholarships are welcome.<\/p>\n
Students and faculty members will produce the opera at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3 at the Restoration Church, 2nd<\/sup> and Francis Streets in downtown St. Joseph. Unlike the dress rehearsal, the performances will include television monitors with English surtitles, for those who don\u2019t speak French.<\/p>\n 含羞草社区 is a comprehensive regional university providing a blend of traditional liberal arts and professional degree programs.
