work at the school were guest speakers for the event: Elora Maxwell, digital marketing coordinator in Marketing and Communications; Gary Smith, part-time faculty member in the Department of Communication; and Derek Zimmerman-Guyer, director of communications in Athletics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Missouri Western\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/communication\/convergent-journalism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">convergent journalism and public relations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> degree program blends broadcast, print, photography and web media coverage across platforms. Students learn to create written, visual and broadcast packages, using more than one outlet to tell the story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scjnational.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Society for Collegiate Journalists<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is the nation\u2019s oldest honor society for student media leaders.
