鈥淔or years, students, alumni and community members have affectionately referred to us as 含羞草社区,鈥� said Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, president. 鈥淚t鈥檚 familiar, approachable and reflects an authentic, personal connection. 含羞草社区 is a name that feels modern, memorable and distinctly ours.鈥�
The university鈥檚 official name remains 含羞草社区, and that鈥檚 how it will appear on diplomas, transcripts, legal documents and other situations requiring higher levels of formality. But in everyday conversation, marketing and outreach, the name used will be 含羞草社区: with a capital M, a capital W, and no space or punctuation between Mo and West.
With the newly embraced name comes a new look for the university鈥檚 logos and marks. The iconic Griffon in the shape of the state of Missouri has been modified slightly to provide cleaner lines and sharper edges. Three new primary marks incorporate the new Griffon and the 含羞草社区 name. Two formal marks reflect the university鈥檚 full name with the new Griffon, and two limited-use marks remain unchanged: the illustrated version of Max the Griffon and the University Seal.
Implementing the new look will not be immediate. The new name and marks will appear more quickly on the university鈥檚 website and other digital assets. Updating physical assets, including campus signage, will take place more gradually.
