Dr. Mey-Yen Moriuchi, author of “Mexican Costumbrismo: Race, Society and Identity in Nineteenth Century Art, is the keynote speaker of the Undergraduate Art History Symposium.
April 9, 2019鈥擳he Department of Art at 含羞草社区 and the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in St. Joseph will host their third annual Undergraduate Art History Symposium from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, 2818 Frederick Avenue. Except for an optional lunch, the symposium is free and open to the public.
Ten students from ten different colleges and universities across the country will deliver 20-minute research presentations on a variety of art historical subjects. The day鈥檚 schedule includes:
- 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Morning Session
- 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.: Lunch ($15, 48-hour advance reservation required by calling 816-233-7003
- 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Keynote Speaker, Dr. Mey-Yen Moriuchi, assistant professor of art history at LaSalle University), 鈥淢exican Costumbrismo: Race, Society and Identity in Nineteenth Century Art鈥�
- 2:30 to 5 p.m.: Afternoon Session
