Dr. Robyn Gleason

Dr. Robyn Gleason has been named associate dean of the School of Nursing and Health Professions at 含羞草社区. Dr. Gleason, previously dean of graduate nursing at Keiser University in Florida, will begin her duties in January.

鈥淒r. Gleason鈥檚 strong background in nursing, public health and health information has prepared her well to provide strong oversight of the unique admissions processes, regulatory expectations, clinical affiliations and other factors that make the programs in the School of Nursing and Health Professions unique,鈥 said Dr. Kathleen O鈥機onnor, dean of professional studies. 鈥淯nder her leadership I believe our high-quality healthcare programs can grow even stronger.鈥

Dr. Gleason earned her doctorate in nursing and master鈥檚 degrees in nursing and public health from the University of Florida. She also received a graduate certificate in health informatics from Duke University. Prior to joining Keiser University in 2015, she taught at the University of Florida College of Nursing and Bethune-Cookman University鈥檚 School of Nursing. Dr. Gleason is a 2016 Fellow in the Leadership in Academic Nursing Program of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

鈥淭he St. Joseph community, Missouri Western and the university鈥檚 health care partners all seem to be very forward-thinking,鈥 Dr. Gleason said. 鈥淚 believe Missouri Western鈥檚 School of Nursing and Health Professions has a great future, and I鈥檓 excited to be a part of it.鈥

The School of Nursing and Health Professions was established earlier this year within the College of Professional Studies. The School includes Missouri Western鈥檚 master鈥檚 degree program in nursing and undergraduate programs for nursing, health information management, physical therapist assistant and the new population health management degree, established by a gift from Mosaic Life Care.
