A former U.S. Ambassador to Portugal will present a lecture titled “The Disintegration of Civil Discourse in American Politics” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in ߲’s Blum Student Union Hoff Conference Rooms, 218-219. The talk is the second of the 2013-2014 Peace and Conflict Studies Speaker Series, sponsored by the Peace and Conflict Studies minor and the ߲ Foundation. It is free and open to the public.

Allan J. Katz is the guest speaker. Katz was ambassador to Portugal from 2009 to 2013. A former city commissioner in Tallahassee, Fla., he has vast experience in politics and public debate. He is currently on the faculty at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
