含羞草社区 department of music presents the Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2618 Seneca Street, St. Joseph. The concert will feature University Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Choruses as well as the Chamber Singers. The concert will feature folk tunes from multiple countries and sacred and secular music from the recent and ancient past.
The Women鈥檚 and Men鈥檚 Choruses will perform literature including听鈥淟oosin Yelav,鈥澨齛n Armenian folk song,听鈥淔or Good鈥澨齠rom the Broadway musical听鈥淲icked,鈥� Broadway hits from听鈥淪weeney Todd鈥�听and popular tunes such as听鈥淒a Doo Ron Ron鈥� and 鈥淢y Girl.鈥�
The Chamber Singers will present music recently performed on their Kansas City- area tour as well as pieces performed at Heartland Health鈥檚 Celebration of Life. These include Norman Dello Joio鈥檚听鈥淎 Jubilant Song鈥� with Ara Ju, instructor of music, on piano; and Eric Whitacre鈥檚 鈥淲aternight,鈥澨齱ritten for 14 parts, and听鈥淗ow Can I Keep From Singing?鈥�
