This addition makes the program even more convenient for working professionals seeking to advance their careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cCybersecurity professionals are in high demand, filling a critical need in today\u2019s dynamic technical landscape,\u201d said Yipkei Kwok, program director of the cybersecurity program. \u201cThey develop new ways to protect data, companies and technical infrastructure from cyber threats and are the main line of defense for protecting organizations in every industry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students in the program learn to apply the principles of data protection, network security and computer forensics as well as the ethical, legal and policy issues associated with information security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMy professors took what I already knew about the IT field and raised it to a whole new level,\u201d said Todd Miller \u201919. \u201cThey exposed me to areas and jobs in the IT field that I previously knew nothing about.\u201d Miller credits his professors and experiences at Missouri Western with providing him the confidence needed to help his students reach their full potential and see the wealth of job opportunities within the IT field.
