{"id":4855,"date":"2020-05-11T12:18:20","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T17:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/magazine\/?p=4855"},"modified":"2021-08-18T11:45:05","modified_gmt":"2021-08-18T16:45:05","slug":"alumni-news-spring-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/magazine\/2020\/05\/11\/alumni-news-spring-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Alumni News Spring 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Alumni Center\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThere\u2019s a new space on campus for alumni \u2013 the Alumni Center in Spratt Hall 105.<\/p>\n<p>This past spring, staff in the Alumni and Development offices moved from Spratt 106 and 110 to Spratt 105, the former home of the Western Institute. As part of the move, a space for alumni was created in the front of the offices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted a welcoming space for our alumni when they come to campus, and our new office space gave us the opportunity to create that,\u201d said Kim Weddle \u201900, executive director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. \u201cAlumni are more than welcome to stop by and check out their new space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said almost all the yearbooks have found a home in the Alumni Welcome Center, also, if alumni wanted to browse through them.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Foundation Accounting Office, formerly in Spratt 110, moved to Spratt 106. Todd Simpson, vice president for University Advancement and Executive Director of the MWSU Foundation, remains in Spratt 111 with his executive administrative associate, Jenny Sherlock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call out for Penny Whistles<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the earliest days of the St. Joseph Junior College, students published a literary booklet called \u201cPenny Whistles.\u201d We have several issues in our collection in the library, but we know we are missing some, too.
