Wicks said he was not looking to leave Missouri Western, but took the opportunity to return to his home state.

Days later, it was announced that Missouri Western鈥檚 current assistant coach Will Martin will serve as the new head coach. He was hired by Wicks and has been at the University for two seasons.

Before coming to Missouri Western, Martin served as assistant men鈥檚 basketball coach and director of athletic admissions at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. Prior to that, Martin was the director of basketball operations at the University of San Francisco under head coach Rex Walters.

Martin received his bachelor鈥檚 from the University of Kentucky in 2012 and obtained his master鈥檚 in education from the University of Tulsa in 2015.
